At CCR we are experienced in providing clients with the following services. Each provides a different route to appointment depending on level of seniority, specialism and timescale required.

File Search

File search provides a quick response. Once a job specification is forwarded to Chris Cutting Recruitment, we search our database of pre-screened accountants sourced through advertising on various internet websites, local media, previous advertising assignments that are now closed, and networking. This method of recruitment usually applies to accounts administrators through to the mid level of qualified accountants. Once we have identified suitable candidates a shortlist is prepared and forwarded to you.

Retained Advertising Assignment

Retained Advertising Assignments are generally used to attract higher level accountants, or those with specialist skills. It also provides an opportunity to promote your company and job opportunity. The aim is to attract the best candidates from the national and regional job market. We feel it is important that we meet with you to review the role, take a detailed recruitment brief and then formalise a proposal. We will identify the appropriate media in which to advertise, provide copy for approval and manage the process from advertisement, through to offer. Responses are evaluated and candidates with most relevant experience invited for screening interviews by CCR. The company is then presented with a balanced shortlist of applicants, with information on career objectives, current and expected packages and other related matters that indirectly affect the successful outcome of recruitment. Detailed feedback is given after each interview. Once the preferred applicant has been selected, the offer is conveyed verbally with full package details. The response to the client is dealt with similarly. On verbal acceptance personal contact details, references and notice period are also given to the client. To avoid difficulties at this point, CCR will have discussed and managed package expectations with shortlisted candidates at screening interview stage. However there are occasions when circumstances beyond our control affect the candidates’ expectations. Should the need arise, then CCR will act as a third party negotiating on behalf of, and advising each as to what will or won’t be acceptable to each side before arriving at a final offer/acceptance.

Direct Approach

This is a specialised method which provides a targeted and rapid way of recruiting. It requires a detailed brief and great deal of care to ensure confidentiality, and is very effective when a company is aware of a particular individual(s) with a specialism that it wishes to recruit confidentially. CCR will make a “blind” approach to the target individual(s), recruiting on behalf of an unidentified client. After ascertaining a candidate’s interest by telephone, they are interviewed formally by a consultant and their CV submitted to the client. The company’s identity can be revealed, only with the client’s consent, at any of the key stages during the process. It is then that the candidate’s strength of interest in the job opportunity can be ascertained. With a detailed brief we can apply this form of recruitment to most business disciplines. The fees for this service are not covered in our general Terms and Conditions but are negotiated prior to engagement.

Response handling

Response handling occurs when a company expects a large volume of responses to a job advertisement and wishes them to be handled by a third party. On occasion the client may also want copy provided for approval prior to placement of the advertisement. CCR will respond to all applicants and then select appropriate CVs for the client, who will then be responsible for the rest of the recruitment process. Fees for this service are not covered in our general Terms and Conditions but are negotiated prior to engagement.
