Internal promotion; and recognition of the need for succession planning at senior management level; has led to the recruitment of this diverse role which combines group wide commercial exposure with plc technical responsibilities.

 

Working closely with the Group Financial Controller and Group Financial Director you will also liaise with Divisional, Regional and Subsidiary Heads of Finance; Heads of Tax, Treasury, Audit and Operations. It is expected that you will make significant contributions in a variety of areas while developing the role further. Regular ad-hoc projects will feature and are likely to encompass analysis of business critical data, due diligence, acquisition accounting, development of subsidiary systems and controls, preparing technical working papers and implementing change. Core responsibilities will include preparing head office management and statutory accounts, updating group wide bonus calculations, directing subsidiary accountants and collecting data for analysis, assisting with preparation of consolidated month end accounts, and interim and year end statutory reporting. You will also share in some internal audits as part of the head office team, including international travel.

 

You should be a highly motivated, graduate, ACA/ACCA at managerial level in a top 10 Practice or, you may already be in industry and look for a higher profile role. Prerequisites are:- sound experience of IFRS, systems and internal/external audits of large businesses, technical excellence and proficiency with Microsoft Office. The ability to “add value” and commercial awareness are prized and encouraged, as are the abilities to be comfortable with and sensitive to different cultures. Excellent communication skills, a strong team ethos, use of initiative and functioning well under pressure are also highly valued.
