Consistent double digit growth and exceptional profitability is an enviable track record. Rotork, a FTSE 250 plc, has consistently delivered this as the latest results illustrate. It is the world leader in design, manufacture and support of valve actuators and related flow control products. Aggressive overseas expansion coupled with the development and launch of technically advanced products, and a very strong customer/employee focus ensures Rotork maintains market position. At almost £600 million the group continues to sustain significant growth leading to the need for this newly created, high profile position.

This role is much more than technical accounting and compliance. You will have exposure to Main Board Directors, senior managers, operational and commercial aspects of this global engineering business. It will give you the opportunity to thoroughly understand how each of the businesses operates. You will also be involved in continually developing and nurturing good relationships between subsidiaries and Head Office.
Working closely with the Group Financial Controller your time will be divided equally between the two aspects of the role. Financial Accounting duties will include:-managing the UK subsidiaries change from UK GAAP to IFRS; periodically updating the group accounting manual, policies and procedures; preparing sections of the annual report and supporting workpapers; managing the process of subsidiary financial statements preparation; engaging in pre/post acquisition work; assisting with Risk review; and preparing regulatory returns.  Internal Audit responsibilities will involve:-assisting in running the program of internal audits; coordinating the timetable of visits to 40+ sites each year for 20+ internal audit team members; sharing in overseas internal audits; annual review of the internal audit program; training of the internal audit team; reviewing reports and providing feedback; and preparing audit committee papers.
Accountants at Rotork will confirm that their roles evolved quickly into broader and more challenging remits, due to dynamic growth and a strong collegiate culture. This position is no different and should appeal to those who can see beyond the stereotypical. An accountant at Rotork is seen as a group wide resource and can look forward to a variety and complexity of work in a fast evolving, demanding and very rewarding environment.

You will be a highly motivated, graduate, qualified accountant who takes pride in delivering excellence and has experience of managing internal/external audits of large businesses. You should be able to demonstrate a track record of “added value”; proficiency with Microsoft Office; an ability to be comfortable with and sensitive to different cultures; excellent communication skills at all levels; technical strength; and commercial awareness. To fit in well with the team you will be a committed team player with a good sense of humour (even under pressure), will go the “extra mile” willingly, and can exercise initiative appropriately. The nature of the business and role requires flexibility in your approach to work and some international travel. In return Rotork offers a rewarding career with high satisfaction levels and an appreciation for making a difference.
