Divisional Financial Controller
c£45,000 + Car allowance + Benefits

This role would appeal to an ambitious ACA, ACCA, CIMA with potential, who is early in their experience and looking to accelerate their career. Previous commercial experience is not essential for this high profile position, though good commercial awareness and strong interest in business is. The Group Finance Director is totally committed to mentoring and developing you into a fully commercial Divisional Financial Controller.

Steatite Ltd is a c£30 million multisite division of Solid State plc, a £70 million AIM listed high value-add manufacturer of technology for use in harsh environments, and a specialist design-in distributor to the electronics industry. The division is a high growth and very profitable technology manufacturer of value-added solutions across three market areas comprising, Computing, Power and Communications.


Reporting to the Divisional MD and Group Finance Director you will be expected to make significant profit, operational and process improvements. Stakeholders will include a small team, operations managers and external agents such as banking, legal, suppliers and customers. Responsibilities will include:

• Supporting the commercial teams on bid preparation and margin analysis
• Supporting the forecasting and budgeting process
• Preparation of management accounts including
– Profit and Loss
– Balance sheet
– Cash flow statements
– Budget Variance analysis
– Key financial metrics
• Preparation of all statutory returns including VAT & Intrastat
• Preparation of various schedules and reconciliations
• Overall responsibility for the balance sheet including AR, AP and inventory
• Managing foreign currency exposure
• Group Payroll and pension administration with outsourced provider
• P11D and P60 reporting
• Travel to other sites
