It is the world leader in design, manufacture and support of valve actuators, control systems and related accessories. Aggressive overseas expansion coupled with the development and launch of technically advanced products ensure Rotork maintains market position. Long term growth achieved by the group has created a new role which the Finance Director of the Gears Division has taken on. Consequently there is the need to appoint a robust, career oriented Finance Director to work with a strong, charismatic team, and to support the Managing Director in driving growth and profitability. This £50 million business which consistently returns profits of 20+% on turnover is poised to continue the rapid growth trajectory it has achievedin recent years.

 

This autonomous role carries full strategic, commercial, operational, fiscal, and governance responsibilities for the division with some involvement in wider Group activities. A feature of the role will be to enhance performance of the overseas factories and added value businesses. You will be expected to improve visibility and profitability of projects, working capital management, contractor terms and financial processes. Working closely with both the Divisional Managing Director and Group Finance Director, you will also be part of a highly professional, dynamic and cohesive Group management team. This will include involvement in ad hoc tasks such as acquisitions, systems and staff development, and sharing in the Group wide internal audit programme. As an international role a degree of flexibility and regular travel to overseas locations is required.

 

Seeking a step up from subsidiary, divisional or group role to Commercial Divisional Director level, you must be a graduate, qualified accountant who possesses a strong academic and professional exam record. You must also have experience of working in international, multisite operations at a commercial level. You should be an ambitious, self motivated and team oriented individual who can demonstrate a track record of achievements, sound commercial acumen, technical strength and excellent communication skills. This is a challenging, interesting, and very rewarding role which offers the opportunity to make a significant difference at all levels. Though manufacturing/engineering experience is a preference, it is not essential. However, you must have experience of business sectors where tangible products and supply chain feature together with a strong interest in or appreciation of product, market position, development, quality, lifecycle and associated issues. The role requires a strong charismatic individual who possesses both an entrepreneurial spirit and practical approach to growth.
