Continued sustained growth of this highly profitable, international Group has resulted in the need to strengthen Group Finance with this newly created, wide and varied, high profile role. It is also part of a future succession planning strategy.

 

The Assistant Group Financial Controller will work very closely with and occasionally deputise for the Group Financial Controller. This will give significant exposure to the Group Finance Director and CEO. The position is also an integral part of the senior Head Office team comprised of Heads of Tax, Treasury and Internal Audit. Overall responsibilities will include: – group management and statutory accounting, supporting subsidiary accountants internationally and in the UK, assisting with preparation of half year and year end group financial statements, data collation and analysis, development of systems/internal control environment and ad-hoc projects as required in support of development of the Group. The role will also share some international internal audit duties with the wider finance team including Divisional Finance Directors. It is expected that the successful incumbent will not only develop their skills but also the role, capitalising on the opportunity of putting their stamp on it.

 

You will be a graduate ACA/ACCA with relevant large company experience either from a Big 4 firm or a medium to large international business. Commercially aware and technically strong you should have demonstrable experience of resolving IFRS issues as well as working with different accounting standards. Excellent communication skills and proficiency at intermediate to advanced level Excel are a prerequisite. You should be a highly motivated, career oriented individual who can exercise initiative, work as a team player and who takes pride in high standards of work.
